Bogotá is salsa and delicious restaurants. It is also art and beautiful landscapes. The end of the year gives you the chance to enjoy the city without the usual crowd of the working days. You can go out on a sunny morning and take a walk down the historical neighborhood, La Candelaria.

You will experience a relaxing trip and take pictures at the nicely preserved colonial houses, which are colorful and full of history. The Botero Museum (Donación Botero) collects an exquisite selection of paintings and sculptures donated by Fernando Botero to Bogotá. Here, you will find paintings of Giorgio De Chirico, Edgar Degas and sculptures of Salvador Dalí, amongst others. The Botero Museum will close on Tuesdays and the entrance is free.

Visiting this museum is ideal in the morning hours. After an hour or so in the Botero Museum (Calle 11 No.4-41), you cannot skip one of the most traditional meals from Bogotá: tamal and chocolate. You can find it near the museum, in a small restaurant called La Puerta Falsa.

For lunch, you can visit many areas of the city which are informally known by letters: the T, G, C, and M zones... We recommend you to visit a restaurant where you can try the most traditional meals from Bogotá. Casa Vieja and Club Colombia make two of the best "ajiacos" in town. Ajiaco is a soup with corn, potatoes, chiken, milk cream, and capers. You must try it.

Of course, you must be asking yourself if we will recommend you a nice place to party until 4 am. Well, you've probably heard of Andrés Carne de Res. At this eccentric restaurant you can try a delicious "punta de anca", a wonderful "bandeja paisa" or simply one of the best pieces of steak you have ever had.

The best part of going to Andrés, is that after a long lunch you can stay there, having some mojitos and enjoying a wild party. You need to go by car, or if you want to have some drinks, just take a cab. It's outside Bogotá so it's better if you get your own rented car or if you ask some local friends to take you to this enchanted restaurant. Andrés Carne de Res is the most famous restaurant of Bogotá. It's charming and full of little details that will get you addicted to it. It will only be closed the 31st of December.
That would be one vive.in day in Bogotá. You will get to know us by our art, our food, our architecture and our parties.
